GM Badge (days not hosting events): Please go to
Volunteering GMing page
or contact the proper Magnate for more
                             details.

Selecting the events you wish to participate in is easy.  You have two registration options:
1. (Option 1) This option is for those people who wish to use Paypal.  People who desire to use this option will use the Paypal
button below.  In the special instructions area of your Paypal payment, include the events for which you wish to register.  To
ensure you are registered for the events you're interested in please send us an email with the events listed.  Email:

t
exicon@texicon.net. Once we receive your payment we'll list you as a participant and send you an email telling listing the events
for which you are registered and that we have received your payment.  It may take some time for us to send you the email the
closer the convention gets as we get quite busy.  Don't worry, PayPal does send us an email and worst case scenario we can
straighten everything out if the need should arise.

2a. (Option 2) This option is for those people who wish to register for the convention using Check or Money Order.  Step one is to
send us an email: tell us that you sent your payment in the mail and list out your personal information: Name, address, phone
number.  You will also need to include, in the email, the events for which you want to register, and the type of convention badge
you purchased (i.e. one day badge, two day badge, or Full con badge).

2b. Mail us a check or money order for the convention.  Once we receive your payment and it has cleared you will be registered
for the convention, and you will be signed-up for the games you indicated.  We will send you an email telling you that we received
your payment, and we will list the events for which you have been registered.  If we made a mistake in registering you for the
proper games, please send us an email letting us know of the error and we will rapidly rectify the matter.

Note: If an event you register for has been filled you will be sent an email stating so.  Also, if your event should be canceled we
will attempt to tell you it has been canceled, if we catch it.  However, Pre-registered players are responsible for letting registration
staff know of any changes to their schedules.  If there is a change to a Pre-registered player's schedule, please email us at
texicon.texicon.net to let us know how you wish to handle the change.  When you've decided what event(s) you'd like to switch to
simply send us an email and we'll register you for those events.

Please note: event registration is on a first come first served basis.  Email notification will be sent by Kevin when you have been
signed-up for your events.  There is only one person who puts the pre-registered attendees on the Game Sign-up Sheets.  This is
Kevin.  He will send you an email notification when he has listed you for your events.
Single day pass:
Note: purchase one pass
per day. (e.g. for a
Saturday & Sunday pass
purchase two of these.
Event Cancellation
If an event is canceled, we will attempt to notify attendees who have signed-up for it.  However, we are not always able to
notify people of its cancellation.  If we fail to notify someone, and it is discovered at the convention, please use the calm
approach.  Tory is not in charge of pre-registration.  Kevin is.  Simply ask her to find Kevin and he will clear up the matter.  If
Tory has enough time, i.e. she is not swamped by people trying to purchase a badge, she still cannot help you because this is
not her area.  Only Kevin can help you.  So, just ask for Kevin.  He will be along shortly to sort out the matter.

If, on the other hand, an attendee notices that a game has been canceled, simply email us at texicon@texicon.net and tell us
the following information:
1) the event name, day, and time that was cancelled
2) the alternate event(s) for which you wish to pre-register

Players will receive notification when their event has been switched to the new schedule AND they will also be sent a revised
list of the games for which they are registered.  There is no automated email system.  Kevin is the only one making sure that
attendees are properly signed-up for events.  So, he will get to it as quickly as he can.  Also, we sign-up players according to
the date they paid for the convention.  Moreover, we sign-up players for events and canceled events in the order in which
their emails are received.  Therefore, players need to make sure to promptly reply to any email sent to them by the
convention.
Please note: event sign-up only occurs after
payment is processed and your email, telling
us the events you want, has been received.
First come first served basis.

Using historical miniatures in the classroom enhances the learning process by allowing students the touch and see method of
learning. If the students are also painting the miniatures then using them in a wargame, they not only get to research the
uniforms of the time to paint them but also learn some tactics of how the particular armies worked on the battlefield. Albeit, as far
as we understand how those armies worked on the battlefield from our research.

The added benefits of using wargaming miniatures in the classroom where the students does the research to paint their
miniatures it helps to reinforce the basics of learning, ie, math (running the combat results tables with modifiers), reading
(understanding the rules, CRT, and uniform research) and writing (recording the uniform colors, creating an army orbit and
drawing out battle plans). And by painting the miniatures the student gets the benefit of eye hand coordination, and playing the
game helps with social interaction and working with a team.

Not only all of the above but it is fun and the student is learning while not really knowing that they are learning they are just
having fun.
Why are Miniatures  Wargaming Educational?

Every year, Texicon holds a Lost Worlds tournament.  This is a chance for gamers to meet and have fun.  Lost Worlds is unique in that it's a Board Game,
Miniatures Game, and RPG all rolled into one.  This means that every gamer will enjoy it.  Check out the Lost Worlds tournament and the prizes that winners
receive.
Seminars: I, Kevin, also work hard to bring attendees Seminars.  The last two years in a row, very few came.  I, Kevin, believe in Seminars.
They provide an opportunity for experts in gaming to share their knowledge.  I also work hard to schedule them in between sessions so that
everyone can attend.  Hopefully, we will eventually have seminars all the time and in their own room.  So, come to the Seminars and learn
something that may very well prove vital or life changing.

1.  Paint will account for 10% of your overall score. (See Painting scoring in the Best Army scoring section for additional details)
2.  Rounds will be determined by game play results and each player will be seeded with an opponent of their caliber. Victory point match-ups are a higher
priority than any other form of match-up, so be prepared to play any army type or opponent.
ΘPlayer match-ups will be determined by:
º Victory points then wins
º For the first (3) games we will attempt match up Axis vs. Allies whenever possible but do not expect every game to work out historically.
º For the first (3) games we will attempt to avoid matching up same army types.
3.  Players are responsible for monitoring the time and the judges will announce time intervals throughout the tournament.
4.  When time is called the game must immediately end regardless of the action taking place in the game.

How do I Pre-Register?

Okay, now that I have Pre-Registered, how do I sign-up for games?

If you paid by pay-pal, you should have put the events you wanted in the notes section.  However, if you did not, you can still
sign-up for events.

How do I sign-up for events?  Only attendees who have paid prior to the deadline may pre-register for events.

That is easy.  Send an email to Texicon at registration@texicon.net and tell our staff the games you want.  The following
information is required to ensure sign-up for the correct game:

1) Day of event
2) Time of event
3) Event Title
4) Name of Game
5) GM who is running the game

Provide this information for each event.

Note: in the a line Please enter the title: Pre-Registration
Event Cancellation
If an event is canceled, we here at Texicon will attempt to notify attendees who have signed-up for it.  However, we are not
always able to notify people of its cancellation.  If we fail to notify someone, and it is discovered at the convention, please use
the calm approach.  Tory is not in charge of pre-registration.  Kevin is.  Simply ask her to find Kevin and he will clear up the
matter.  If Tory has enough time, i.e. she is not swamped by people trying to purchase a badge, she still cannot help you
because this is not her area.  Only Kevin can help you.  So, just ask for Kevin.  He will be along shortly to sort out the matter.

If, on the other hand, an attendee notices that a game has been canceled before the convention, simply email us at
texicon@texicon.net and tell us the following information:
1) the event name, day, and time that was cancelled
2) the alternate event(s) for which you wish to pre-register

Players will receive notification when their event has been switched to the new schedule AND they will also be sent a revised
list of the games for which they are registered.  There is no automated email system.  Kevin is the only one making sure that
attendees are properly signed-up for events.  So, he will get to it as quickly as he can.  Also, we sign-up players according to
the date they paid for the convention.  Moreover, we sign-up players for events and canceled events in the order in which
their emails are received.  Therefore, players need to make sure to promptly reply to any email sent to them by the
convention.
